Chrysler 200, the Blogger Way

As social media is becoming a force to be reckoned with in today's world, car launches are following the trend and try and tap into the huge impact a good review by a well-known blogger, for instance, can have on the sales number.

Having learned from rivals Ford and GM to take full advantage of these communication channels, Chrysler launched today the Blogger Game on Road Trip campaign.

Meant as a tool to promote the new Chrysler 200, the campaign will see three groups of bloggers test the vehicle in various environments, from Detroit to Pittsburgh, Chicago, New Orleans, and Dallas.

“The ‘Blogger Game on Road Trip’ will provide current and potential customers with a unique behind-the-wheel perspective of the fun and adventure to be had while traveling across the country in the new 2011 Chrysler 200,” said Olivier Francois Chrysler CEO.

“Whether it’s commuting to work or a embarking on a road trip with friends, the Chrysler 200 provides drivers with confident handling performance in all types of driving situations."

The Chrysler 200, presented at this year's North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) will be launched powered by the car maker's two engines, the 2.4l inline-four (mated to either a four- or six-speed automatic transmission) and the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6.

The base price for the model, including destination, will be $19,995, with the car to be offered in four trims, LX, Touring, Limited and S.

Fans of the brand and the car can view the blogger's adventures on the car maker's official Facebook page or follow them on Twitter.
