Documents published by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration inform that Chrysler is calling back a handful of 2015 model year 200 sedans over a minor fault. According to the automaker, cars covered by this safety recall were fitted with a wiring harness of an insufficient wire gauge.
The faulty component is located in the driver side door and Chrysler says that due to the insufficient wire gauge, there's a possibility of excessive heat that may melt the driver door's wiring insulation.

After a vehicle hasn't passed the end of line audit at the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant, Chrysler started an investigation into this defect. According to the carmaker, only 8 vehicles are affected, all of them built from May 19th to June 21st, 2014.

The scope of affected vehicles was found to be those with the 'Power Windows, Driver One-Touch' (JPG) sales code only. The Chrysler Group tells in the previously mentioned documents that the error was made when updating the door wire harness at the supplier.

Thankfully, the American manufacturer is unaware of any accidents or injuries potentially related to this issue. Owners will be notified and those faulty door wiring harnesses will be replaced by dealers free of charge, with the recall expected to begin this month. In the meantime, affected owners may contact Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403. Don't forget that Chrysler's number for this recall is P43.
