While we do appreciate a flashy and nice-looking motor as much as the next automotive publication, we say that too many blue chrome-wrapped cars are beginning to surface. We fear it may become a global phenomenon, as it’s cheap enough to be adopted by anybody and on any sort of vehicle.
This time, a non-facelifted Lamborghini Gallardo from China has ‘fallen victim’, if you will, to the wretched blue chrome wrap bug. We say the Gallardo is a flashy enough car as it is, and applying such a wrap to it will undoubtedly make it even flashier. But is this really a positive aspect, especially since it is the second Gallardo to get this treatment? We may start having to wear sunglasses just to keep our retinas from being burnt by all that blue and very reflective wrap.
Has the thin line between cool and kitsch been crossed here? We do understand such a wrap being applied to the body of a much blander car, to make it stand out more, but putting it on a Lambo is a tad too much, we say. We’re also pretty sure that the guys over at Sant'Agata Bolognese would not be pleased at all to see this.
