Pop singer Christina Perri has just released a new video as part of her second studio album, "Head or Heart." Called Burning Gold, the video was released on 1st of August and shows a retro Mercedes-Benz bursting into flames. Good thing is, it’s actually a kit car so no great damage was done.
As part of the promotion of her highly-anticipated second studio album “Head or Heart,” released on April 1 via Atlantic Records, Burning Gold was co-written by the artist with the collaboration of Kid Harpoon. Perri started playing the song in late-July and she performed Burning Gold for the first time on TV on Today Show, a week ago. And just a couple of days later, the video hit the market.
Perri named her second studio album “Head or Heart” because while looking back on her past relationships, certain times she used her head while other she used her heart. “The album is a collection of my little stories and my truths over the past couple years of choosing between one or the other and in the end still not knowing,” she explained in a Radio interview.
Well, we have no problem in hot brunettes burning gold for love and so on, we don’t even mind photoshopped footage of retro cars allegedly bursting into flames, but just don’t mess with the authentic ’20s rides. The car burning in the video looks like a 1928-1929 Mercedes-Benz Roadster, a classic four-wheeler only professionals should handle.
However, looking at the wheels, the wings and almost every part of the car, we’re pretty sure we’re talking about a re-creation of the vintage car, one you’d call a kit car. And these rides are not just copies of the actual cars, but also come very cheap. In fact, you could buy one with a couple of thousand dollars on eBay, if you look close.
