Christian Von Koenigsegg Compares Regera Hypercar and Tesla Battery Packs

The room used to serve as the showroom of Koenigsegg's factory in Agelholm, but, after the expansion plans determined a relocation of the showroom, the automaker now uses it to handle all the laborious prototype work.

Thanks to the Drive-provided piece of footage at the bottom of the page, we can see Christian von Koenigsegg explaining various hidden aspects of the company's work.

And with a hefty part of the K brand's efforts now being focused on the Regera hybrid, the helm man obviously focuses on the gas-electric hypercar.

Note that this footage was recorded earlier in the year, with some of the planned aspects described here having already taken place - for instance, the Regera has had its public driving debut and here's the story in case you missed it.

Interestingly, Christian takes the time to compare the battery packs of the Regera and the Tesla Model S. However, before jumping to conclusions, there are two things you need to consider.

As opposed to the Palo Alto vehicles, the hypercar only needs to deliver a few miles of all-electric range. Then there's the upgrade to the 100 kWh battery pack of the P100D Tesla has done. And while this doesn't dramatically change the comparison data mentioned by Christian, it's still worth noting.

And while we're talking Koenigsegg prototypes, we can't wait to see the next step in the story of the Nurburgring-crashed One:1 rebuild adventure, which will probably see the Swedish automaker returning to the Nurburgring for a new lap record attempt next year, as the current testing season ends later this month.
