Known predominantly for his slow-motion antiques while sideways in six-figure sports cars on YouTube, Chris Harris is an accomplished journalist that is no stranger to driving (quite well) in endurance races.
It seems like 2016 will be a full year for the Monkey as he is not only part of the revamped Top Gear show but will also be able to show his driving skills in the Blancpain Endurance Series Cup thanks to Bentley Team Parker Racing.

The opening round of the season will take place this weekend at Monza, with one of the other four rounds to include the fantastic Spa-Francorchamps 24 Hours.

Harris will be racing a Bentley Continental GT3 in the Am class entry, sharing his car with Chris Cooper and Derek Pierce. Their car will run alongside three other Contis, one of which is also part of Team Parker Racing, but will run in the Pro-Am class.

The other two Bentleys will be fielded by the company's works team, Bentley Team M-Sport, and will run in the top-level Pro class.

This is a bit of a pinch yourself moment,” Harris said. “If, last year, you’d asked me what my dream 2016 race season would be it would have involved a Bentley Continental GT3, Stuart Parker and my good friend and long-time team mate Chris Cooper. And now it’s happened!

Most people usually associate Chris with Porsche and Aston Martin race cars, particularly as he ran with both brands in the Nurburgring 24 Hours, so the Bentley Continental GT3 is a first for him.

I saw an early car being built two years ago and ever since then I’ve wanted to drive one. That I get to do it with Team Parker, a team I’ve had many successes with in the past, is fantastic news. The GT3 category is the most interesting, varied form of circuit racing out there and I think that with Chris [Cooper] and Derek Pierce we have a very good team to attack the Am championship. I just need to remember that the big oversteer is for the Top Gear cameras, not the race track.
