Swiss watchmaker Chopard and Italian carmaker Alfa Romeo have decided to commemorate their respective anniversaries (150th for Chopard and 100th for Alfa Romeo) with a new anniversary collection. As a limited edition of the Mille Miglia and Gran Turismo collections, the watches are all powered by ETA-based automatic chronometer movements.

The Chopard Gran Turismo XL Alfa Romeo collections are available in three guises; as automatic C.O.S.C. chronometer in a 44mm stainless steel case or the Gran Turismo XL Alfa Romeo C.O.S.C. Chronograph, which is available in 44mm stainless steel or cool Diamond-Like-Carbon (DLC) version.

All three versions come on the Dunlop ‘radial’ tire pattern natural rubber strap and the combination of red, white, steel and black to set the pulse racing, especially with the Alfa Romeo logo inscribed in rosso red on the black dial.

Moreover, aside from the three wristwatches, there is also a travel clock and a table clock, both as a tribute to the Gran Turismo XL watch.

The watches have a 100-meter water resistance capacity. Endowed with 46-hour power reserve, the self-winding movements are chronometer-certified by the COSC and beat at 28’800 vibrations per hour.

The chronograph versions are limited to 500 pieces each, while the DLC coated steel case version is limited to 100 pieces. The three-hand model is limited to 500 pieces as well.

Though the manufacturer did not say anything about the pricing yet, according to some sources, it may be somewhere around $10,000.
