ChipsAway Goes the VW Transporter Way

Volkswagen uses every single occasion to promote its vehicles, so every time a new company opts for one of its models, it comes in front of the media to emphasize once again the features of the respective car. Although ChipsAway may not tell you too much if you're not living in Germany, the automotive body and paint repair company has chosen the Transporter as its next model to help it when out on duty.

"Quality, reliability and cost-effectiveness are not only fundamental to our business philosophy, but were also important requirements when determining which vehicle best suited our needs," said Lloyd Evans, ChipsAway’s Chief Executive.

"The Volkswagen Transporter was the clear choice for our mobile workshops. It provides a consistent brand image and strengthens our reputation for being the leading specialists in minor automotive paintwork repairs. The Transporter enables us to provide a high quality, good value and same day service at a place most convenient to customers."

Of course, Volkswagen released its very own statement in which it praises the way the Transporter performs on such a crowded market and emphasized some of the main features of the car.

"The Transporter has evolved through five generations over the last 60 years to make it one of the best and most popular vans ever. The lower running costs, plus improved efficiency and refinement, will make the new Transporter a popular choice for the ChipsAway fleet," David George, Head of Marketing, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, said.

The 2010 Transporter is powered by no less than four different 2.0l four cylinder engines, all common rail TDIs with "greater power and torque levels than the outgoing engines" as the manufacturer says (read outputs in between 84 and 235 horsepower). The unit can be paired with Volkswagen's seven-speed DSG transmission.
