Chip Foose-Designed Oakley Three Palms Shoes

You have to be either living in the stone age or don't care about cars at all if you haven't heard about Chip Foose by now, the man behind so many hot rods, overhauls and even production cars. But even if you haven't been living in the stone age and don't give a dime about cars, we bet you never heard of Chip Foose shoes...

Neither did we, until now, when word of the car designer/ hot rod builder putting his name on a pair of Oakley shoes reached us. Called Oakley Three Palms, the shoes are a tribute to motoring. To be sold for $100 a pair, the collection is just a preview of future Foose-designed shoes, with at least a new collection to be released in spring 2011.

The Oakley Three Palms were drawn by Foose in about six hours, as Troy McMullen, the head of the footwear division at Oakley told Autoweek. The shoes come with a double stripe on the sole, contrast stitch lines and Three Palms logo on the footbed.

The shoes were presented by Oakley during the NHRA's U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis, an event for which Foose is grand marshal.

“I am a huge fan of NHRA Drag Racing and Oakley,"
Foose was quoted as saying by Autoweek. "Both are uniquely American icons, and the two have amazing history together. "

"The U.S. Nationals is the biggest, most historical drag racing event of the season with some of the best competition. Oakley is the ultimate passion-based design-driven brand."
