Now that China has taken its space program to the moon, it’s time for this to start gifting the world with the fruits of its presence there. Well, it seems that we won’t be getting too many fruits, but rather mushrooms. To be more precise, a... massive mushroom cloud over Europe. At least that’s what’s being portrayed in a Chinese diorama showing the moon rover.
Forget the eye-catching Jade Rabbit rover in the adjacent image, check out the background image instead - this shows Europe under nuclear attack. As it turns out, this is actually a stock image, with this clue obviously serving as a possible excuse for such a “in-your-face” display.
Of course, the nuke depiction remains... a nuke depictions and if the Chinese were good enough to pull out a space program all on their own (they’ve been excluded from collaborations with other nations), they could’ve certainly spotted the mushroom in the picture. If only they had wanted to...
