According to Auto News China, Chinese officials are looking into allocating as much as 2-billion yuan ($403-/€324- million) every year for the development of alternatively-powered vehicles.
Along with this financial backing, the Chinese government also plan on promoting the use of hybrid buses in all its major cities, starting, at first with 25 trial cities, according to Vice Finance Minister Zhang Shaochun.

This is seen as a solution to keeping the rampant pollution problems faced by the PRC. The finance minister went further and asked that major cities offer exemptions to taxes, for those who choose to use EVs and hybrids, while also getting preferential parking.

China really needs to embrace the green principles, otherwise, with its gigantic population, it could pollute itself into oblivion if things get out of hand.
