Chinese Edition 2013 Chevrolet Malibu Revealed

The big reveal of the all-new Chevrolet Malibu started out with teases and rumors, but it has turned to full images, as GM’s Chinese site recently published this view of the local market version of the mid-sized sedan and the biggest piece of news here is... it’s blue.

We don’t know whether it’s the angle, the lighting or the color, but this doesn’t look as impressive as the leaked image from a couple of days ago. Still, we get to see a set of new alloys and a better view of the side. Of course, this is only our opinion, so feel free to state your view in the comment section below.

The official unveiling of the 2013 Malibu is scheduled for 8:30 pm EDT on Monday, April 18, through HD video streamed over, which coincides with the April 19 auto show debut of the mid-size sedan in Shanghai. It will also be shown at the New York Auto Show on Wednesday.

This is GM’s first global model, which will be sold in around 100 countries and will be put together at a number of different plants in countries like China and the United States. It will offer region-specific option and be powered by a range of four-cylinder engines.

Aside from the exterior images, GM has also recently shown the interior showcasing the new radio face that articulates up and down revealing a six-inch-deep hidden, illuminated storage compartment, which the company says is a first for a US mid-size.

autoevolution will be attending the 2011 New York International Auto Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
