Chinese Driver Uses Passengers to Cover His License Plates While Reversing on Highway

Chinese astrology might tell us this is the year of the goat or sheep, but one driver in the country begs to differ, perhaps believing 2015 is actually the year of passenger sacrifice.

We are talking about the guy behind the wheel of the Lexus RX in the footage below, who decided to use his passengers to hide the license plates of the car.

That might have worked for concealing the vehicle’s identity, but things don’t exactly seem to be on the safe side. At least that’s what we expect when such a method is used while the car is reversing on what appears to be a highway. Was the Lexus alone on the road? Of course not.

Both number plates were covered, and while the camera did record the adventure, it seems the attempt to hide the plates was successful.

Still, it’s not difficult to imagine a wide variety of extremely graphic scenarios that could have followed the brilliant idea.

Sure, we all know China isn’t exactly short on people supplies, but the sheer idea of using a pair of humans to mask the license plates makes us cringe. Over the years, we’ve seen our fair share of more or less legal tricks behind the wheel, but risking your passengers’ lives over some spilled gas is a decision that’s simply too difficult for us to understand. This might seem mildly amusing, especially given the movement of the passengers, but it's part of a troubled country-wide situation
With China now holding the title of the world’s greatest auto market, the authorities have to handle the gap between the education of the drivers and their increasing number.

Oh well, perhaps we’re wrong and this was some sort of a DIY automated parking test. One that we're strongly encouraging you to avoid at all fuel costs.
