There's a joke going around the auto industry right now which is rather fitting for this story: in China, R&D stands not for Research and Development, but for Receive and Duplicate.
While the car industry in the people's republic has grown in leaps and bounds, they still haven't stopped copying other people's stuff, particularly the Germans'.

This little gem of a xeroxed car is called the Yema Auto M72. It might as well have been called the Billygoat Special, because it's actually an exact copy of the smart roadster coupe. As long as you're going to copy a car guys, why not copy a good one?

From the strange headlights to the shape of the doors and the air intakes on the side, it's pretty much an exact clone. The only part that isn't cloned are the taillights, which we're 90% sure are from the outgoing Mazda3 hatchback.

Shame on you Yema! You made a Mazart roadster, and it needs to be killed with fire.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
