Jia Yueting, a Chinese billionaire, has recently confirmed that he is behind Faraday Future, the mysterious car company that came out of nowhere and now wants to build a billion dollar factory near Las Vegas, Nevada, creating 4,500 jobs.
In a letter sent to state legislators, Yueting stated, without giving any other piece of information, that he is not the only founder of Faraday Future and that, together with global experts, he has figured out a system to manage the company. All we know is Richard Kim, the man who designed the BMW i3 and i8, is the head of design for Faraday.

Yueting has also announced that their plan, apart from building fully electric vehicles that will offer breakthrough connectivity between them and the driver, as well as fully autonomous capabilities, is also about to revolutionize the automobile industry by creating an intelligent mobility system that will protect the earth and will allow everyone to breath clean air.

According to Forbes, the founder also said that the company’s headquarters are in Silicon Valley and its vehicle research and development unit is based in Los Angeles. With employees from more than 40 countries, Faraday Future also has offices in Dusseldorf and Beijing.

Jia Yueting, aged 42, is founder and CEO of Leshi Information & Technology Beijing, also known as LeshiTV, which is one of China’s most popular online video sites. With a net worth of $7.9 billion, he is the 17th richest person in China.

Faraday Future’s concept vehicle is said to use a battery with 15% more capacity than the one mounted on the Tesla Model S. In a recent interview for The Verge, Richard Kim revealed that they built the car from the inside out. On paper, Tesla has some reasons to be worried.

The new Faraday Future vehicle is expected to be launched in January 2016 at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, but first only in concept form.
