Chinese Baidu Search Engine Making Its Own Autonomous Google Car

Well, in China, where Google is banned, people have another thing to do that. It’s called Baidu and to everyone’s surprise, it’s not copying Google’s logo design. It actually comes with a different font and a paw, to suggest something like a dog that fetches results for your.

However, they couldn’t help their selfs not to do what Google does now with its expansion in the automotive world, by creating its first fully autonomous car.

According to Ecns, China’s biggest search engine is developing its own autonomous car that may roll on the streets before the end of the year. It will use radar, laser and GPS systems to navigate its way and detect surrounding objects as well as read traffic signs, asses road conditions and understand voice command.

Well, let’s give them a big thumbs up and hope they’ll succeed with the big project. Soon enough Baidu might put out its own accurate mapping app.

In other news, from the same country that issued a recall for burgers, Baidu said to also create a driverless bicycle as well, but refused to give any details about it. Boy, we’re eager to see that work!
