Anybody who's spent enough time playing with an actual Porsche configurator (not the online one) is well aware of the fact that the color options are virtually unlimited. Nevertheless, it seems like certain owners simply like to borrow attires from other brands, as is the case with the one who grabbed the 911 GT3 RS in the image we have here.
According to Instagram chat, this GT3 RS is dressed in China Grey, a color that comes from the Aston Martin palette.
It seems that the machine was ordered by an unnamed collector who lives in Germany and that this photo doesn't even show its final form - we also told that the Porsche Exclusive CXX details were added to the 500 hp monster after this image was taken.
Given the fact that the GT3 RS strays from the traditionally restrained appearance of the Neunfler, hues such as the one we have here allow the car to get closer to its roots. As such, we'll give this one a massive round of applause, even though we generally prefer livelier colors of new-age wraps for the Rennsport Neunelfer.
Speaking of aftermarket goodies for the 991.1 incarnation of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, we have to remind you that, by now, this side of the industry has gone wild. And we'll back up this conclusion with a pair of examples.
The first, which is also the most extreme we'll probably see in quite a while, involves a GT3 RS for which we can no longer use the PDK particle.
Having been massaged by the performance car stick shift-obsessed US market, the said Rennsport model now packs a six-speed manual that comes from the Porsche 911 R.
Then there's the Manthey Racing-tuned 911 GT3 RS we recently brought to you. Packing just a few mods, this rear-engined animal has shaved a full ten seconds off its Nurburgring lap time and can now go round the infamous German track in 7:10. And we're only expecting more awesome Porsche 911 GT3 RS mods in the future.
