Even though it appears like the accident I’m about to mention happed earlier in March, it still sounds like a piece of news perfect for April Fools Day.
Long story short, two Chinese fellows, husband and wife, were riding on a scooter towards a local hospital in Xiamen, China, as the woman had gone into labour. Various sources mention that the two spouses preferred to ride the scooter to the hospital because they either did not want to wait for an ambulance, or the overall costs would have been too big. Or both. It’s China, and many crazy things are happening there.
Either way the two, 42-year-old man and40-year-old woman, have been involved in an accident allegedly caused by a truck driver doing an illegal turn. Now it’s time for old-school Chinese ninja movies. The truck ran the poor woman over in such a way that her child, named Xiao Zhao was literally ejected from his mother’s womb, in a gruesome and incredibly lucky way which did not inflict severe injuries.
Witnesses reportedly found the baby near his deceased mother, with only minor bruises and a small head injury. Rushed to the hospital it should have been born into in the first place, the child is recovering well and will be handed to family members after doctors deem this move as safe.
Xiao Zhao, altgether fine and born at 4kg (8.8 lbs) was already dubbed “the miracle baby”. The truck driver was arrested and is currently held in custody, Metro reports. Few days later, and nobody would believe such a story… even though I still have my doubts. Via insella
