Things go as planned for the electric and hybrid cars manufactures as gas price goes up and people start looking for alternatives. The vehicle sales situation improved in the last few months and it looks promising.
The Volt from Chevrolet this month reached a new all-time monthly sales level. Comparing the data from this month to the ones from March 2011, Chevy managed to outpace almost four times its sale volumes. Just this past month, they sold 2,289 Volts, while in February they delivered less then half that - 1,023 units. The previous record was set at 1,529 Volts in December 2011, so the sales went up by almost 800 units in March 2012.
On the other hand, for Nissan things didn’t improved as they hoped to. They sold just 579 Leafs in March, 478 in February and just 298 units a year ago. Their record was set in June 2011 when they convinced 1,708 people to buy their EV.
