Simply put, Chevrolet's premium heavy-duty pickup combines the convenience of the Silverado 1500 High Country with the rugged capability of the Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD. The up-market version of Chevrolet's Silverado HD will officially debut next week at the New York International Auto Show.
By combining ruggedness with comfort, the 2015 Silverado High Country HD promises to be the best of both worlds. On the exterior features front, this trim level comes standard with High Country badges on the doors and tailgate, 6-inch tubular chrome assist steps, chrome grille with horizontal bars and body-color front and rear bumpers. Chevrolet’s new up-level chrome wrapped trailer tow mirrors are also there.

Silverado 2500HD High Country models also feature unique 20-inch chrome wheels. 3500HD single-rear-wheel models are equipped with 18-inch chrome wheels, while dual-rear-wheel models use 17-inch forged aluminum wheels.

Step inside and you're greeted by the High Country exclusive saddle brown interior featuring heated and ventilated perforated premium leather front bucket seats, the Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system with an 8-inch touch screen and Bose premium audio, as well as front and rear parking sensors.

The options list includes a rear-seat entertainment system with BluRay/DVD player, sunroof and navigation system. As for the High Country Premium Package, that features power adjustable pedals, heated steering wheel and the driver alert safety package.

Like other Silverado HDs, the High Country HD models will offer a choice of three powertrains:

  • A 6.0L V-8 specifically tuned for heavy-duty trucks, rated at 360 horsepower and 380 ft-lb (515 Nm) of torque.
  • A bi-fuel version of the 6.0L V-8 that can seamlessly switch from gasoline to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).
  • The 6.6L Duramax turbocharged diesel teamed with the Allison 1000 six-speed automatic transmission. Rated at 397 horsepower and 765 lb-ft (1037 Nm) of torque, this engine features a variable-vane turbocharger that acts as an exhaust brake, helping control speed on downgrades for more confident towing.

Chevrolet's Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD High Country models will be available starting this summer.
