Chevy El Camino Gets Modernized Rendering, Has Silverado Z71 Vibes
Nowadays, truck people buy trucks and install pointless lift kits. Meanwhile, muscle car guys buy muscle cars and crash them for YouTube notoriety. But it wasn't always like that. We're talking about hooning in a Chevy El Camino, a vehicle so strange we couldn't imagine it being on sale today.
Or could we? Ever since Holden got closed down, we've been hit with a lot of these muscle-truck renderings. Thus, it's quite easy to imagine your Mustang, Charger, or Camaro with a practical truck bed. However, that's not the point of a modernizing rendering.

Here, you're supposed to take something really old and imagine what it would look like if it were in production right now. You can't just draw a bed on a 2020 model and call it a day.

This piece is by wb.artist20 and is quite entertaining. It's basically muscle car inspiration from a bunch of eras stretched over the 3rd-generation El Camino body. So, for example, you have a similar wedge-shaped cabin, presumably giving you access to a bench instead of individual seats.

The nose is what looks the most like a muscle car, featuring four halo lights and plenty of sharp flowing creases. It almost ends up looking like a Chevelle or even a modern Dodge, but we, fortunately, have bumper influences from the current Silverado truck with the Z71 package. Can we still get the top wrapped in fake leather?

The 3rd gen and 4th gen are the coolest, most desirable versions of the "mullet" car. However, we recently enjoyed a widebody rendering based on the last model, featuring 80s boxy design. Also, there's this cool TV ad for the 1983 model online that you're going to get a kick out of.
