Automakers try to promote their buyer-frinedly attitude all the time, but it’s the dealers that screw this up. It happened in Virginia, where a dealer sold a black Chevy Traverse to Danny Sawyer, a 40-year-old registered nurse.
Danny then changed his mind and exchanged it for a blue Traverse the next day. The dealer got the price wrong, as the SUV they gave him was supposed to be $5,600 more expensive.
The dealership then phoned the police, saying Danny has stolen the SUV, when in reality he refused to come in to sing new paperwork, agreeing to a higher price. After spending four hours in arrest, he got out on bond and is now suing the dealer for $2.2 million. Good for him!
When we checked the configurator, the Chevy Traverse comes as standard with in Dark Blue Metallic at no extra charge. Both Black Granite Metallic and Twilight Blue Metallic are optional extras, but they only cost $195 each.
