GM is ready to capitalize on the global success of the Cruze sedan and hatch by introducing a brand new variant based on the same chassis. This is the Cruze Station Wagon, which will sensibly bow at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show next month.
The reason you’re looking at the back of the vehicle is that the Cruze will now sport a facelift with new grille and lights. This is even more important than the Station Wagon itself, since the Cruze is sold by the millions worldwide, so we’re going to take the opportunity to remind you that we’ve shown you the facelifted look a while back.
Obviously, the main selling point of this car is a big load bay, which at its fullest is 1,500 liters. If you think about it, that would be enough for a ton and a half of water if you could actually cary it.
The engine range is of course going to be focused on being sensible and economical, and it will include a 130 hp 1.7-liter VCDi diesel with start-stop technology.
"The Cruze Station Wagon caters to an important market segment. It ticks all the boxes for European drivers in terms of distinctive design, dynamic driving, space and economy," said Chevrolet Europe President and Managing Director Susan Docherty.
