Another day, another recall, this time it’s issued by GM for the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickup trucks produced between September 9th, 2011 to October 19th, 2011. These vehicles could have a built-in flaw with an electrical connector on the buckle of the seatbelt.
As a result of a possible bad connection between the connector on the buckle and the connector pins, the seatbelt warning light might not come on when the belt is not fastened. This must be one of the least annoying construction flaws ever.
Despite this not being a huge flaw, the NHTSA safety body wants people to buckle up for obvious safety reasons. It’s not the fact that the light on the dash will kill you, but the fact that you don’t have your seatbelt on.
GM will fix this issue by installing a new electrical connector terminal. The recall will begin on November 30.
