Although General Motors engineers are hard at work testing the all-new Camaro at the Nurburgring, the current-gen isn't dead yet. As such, Chevrolet wants its fans to pick a name for a 2015 Camaro dubbed Spring Special Edition, which will debut at the beginning of November at SEMA in Las Vegas.
In order to name the special edition 2015 Chevrolet Camaro SS, the American brand is offering fans the possibility to submit their own monikers on Facebook and Tweeter followed by the #NameThatCamaro hashtag on the automaker's social media pages.
Both the winner and the selected name will be announced when the pony bows in Las Vegas. Furthermore, the selected name will also be used to market this special package based on the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro 2SS, which will go on sale in the first quarter of 2015 in coupe and convertible guise.
Underneath that aggressive-looking bonnet lies a 6.2-liter V8 with 426 horsepower on tap when mated to the standard six-speed stick shift. Opt for the automatic and that oomph decreases to 400 ponies. Even so, maybe the Graphite Silver interior trim and special touches here and there will make you forget about the 26 horses lost if you opt for the six-speed slush box.
Expect this special edition to command a couple of grand more than the 2015 Chevy Camaro 2SS coupe ($38,300). If you'll opt for the drop top, then expect to add $2k to an already high sticker price of $43,400.
