We previously reported that Chevrolet was expecting to sell some 2,500 Volts in August - it would have been their best-ever month. However, that figure has been surpassed by some 331 units, reaching a grand total of 2,831 units, thus beating the previous monthly sales record of 2,289 by 542 units.
Sales of the Nissan Leaf have finally started rising again, after a few months in which the only way they went was down. The Japanese manufacturer managed to sell 685 units in august, 290 more than July’s very poor number. It is, however, still a long way off its best figure, recorded in June of 2011 - 1,708 units sold.
With sales going up for both GM and Nissan, August could be called a good month for both manufacturers, despite the fact that their sales figure is still constantly 1,000 units below what they managed to shift last year.
