Euro NCAP has just released releases the crash test results for four new vehicles, including ones for the Chevrolet Trax, the Bowtie's very first B-segment crossover which shares its platform with the Opel Mokka and American Buick Encore.
With so much invested in one architecture, we're not surprised it passed EuroNCAP tests with flying colors. The 94% adult occupant protection rating is particularly impressive, as is the 81% rating for safety assist systems, considering it's quite a tall vehicle.

The Trax achieved maximum points in the side barrier test, providing occupants with good protection for all body regions. Good scores were also received for frontal impact while the Trax provided good protection against whiplash injury thanks to adjustable seat and head restraints.

Child seat installation went without a hitch and the Trax showed it could protect both 18 month old and 3 year old children in case of a crash. In the severe side impact, both dummies were properly contained by the protective shells of their restraints.

ESP was good, and the Trax comes standard with seatbelt reminders for all seats, not just the front.

The vehicle tested by Euro NCAP was an LT trim front-wheel-drive Chevrolet Trax equipped with a 130 hp 1.7L diesel engine. Watch how it performed during Euro NCAP testing in the video below.
