Rumor has it Chevrolet could expand its SUV lineup in the United States by adding a Trailblazer-based midsize model next year.
According to Edmunds, quoting “an industry source familiar with Chevrolet’s product plans”, a version of the Trailblazer is expected to arrive in the United States in 2014. However, Chevrolet denied plans to bring to Trailblazer to North America, saying General Motors is “pleased with the way Equinox, Traverse and Tahoe/Suburban are performing in the marketplace”.

Introduced at the 2012 Bangkok Auto Show, the Thai-built Chevrolet Trailblazer shares its underpinnings with the Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck, a model that’s also slated to return to the US, alongside a GMC Canyon twin, as a 2015 model.

Chevrolet introduced the original Trailblazer in the United States 2002 as an upscale trim line of the Blazer, but was discontinued in 2009, when the Traverse debuted.
