Chevrolet has announced plans to showcase its brand new in-vehicle OnStar 4G LTE technology at the 2014 South by Southwest (SXSW) Trade Show in Austin, Texas, where attendees will be able to demo the feature between March 9-12.
“Chevrolet will share our passion for technology with conference-goers at South by Southwest and looks forward to continuing the conversations that inspire us to create advanced products and services for our customers,” said Paul Edwards, US vice president of Chevrolet marketing.
Chevrolet’s OnStar 4G LTE connectivity will be introduced on the 2015 model year Corvette, Impala, Malibu and Volt, the manufacturer revealed at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) earlier this year. The technology will also become available on the Equinox, Silverado, Silverado HD, Spark, Spark EV and the Trax (Canada only) at a later date.
The built-in Wi-Fi hotspot will allow passengers to connect their personal devices, such as smartphones, laptops and tablets, to high-speed wireless internet. Pricing will be announced later this year.
