General Motors has new tricks to display at the upcoming Auto Shanghai 2015, despite leaving us with the impression that we'll see the plug-in Cadillac CT6 on the Chinese catwalk.
A teaser image surfaced online showing what is thought to be the Chevrolet FNR concept, and everybody is wondering what is GM up to.
Well, so far we know that FNR stands for "Find New Roads", but we're pretty sure that's no news since petrolheads should know this advertising motto by now.
However, the FNR prototype could be the a prodigy of the Shanghai-GM joint venture and by looking at the black-out teaser photo, we should expect to see an all-electric prototype on the Shanghai stage, that explores other alternatives and finds new "roads" for the American manufacturer to follow.
If that's the case, the concept's design would most likely be a creation of General Motor's Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center.
In terms of technological goodies, the FNR prototype is expected to feature an autonomous driving function, pupil recognition for engine start-up and gesture controls. The car's electric powertrain is also suggested by the lit-up bowtie sitting on the thin front fascia, hinting at a sporty model, maybe one capable to rival the BMW i8.
Of course, for now that's pure speculation but we also have the muscular profile and the aerodynamically-sculpted roof on our side. However, technical specs are inexistent at the moment, but we'll be reporting from Auto Shanghai 2015 and keep you updated with live photos and additional information.
Besides the FNR concept, Chevy will also stage the Bolt pure-electric prototype and the Chinese-spec Malibu facelift in Shanghai.
