Chevrolet SuperUte by LupiniPower

South African tuner LupiniPower tweaked the already striking Chevrolet Ute SS (sold as Pontiac G8 in US and Holden Ute SS in Australia) even more to offer a 535 hp SuperUte pick-up with a supercar DNA.

Powered by a 6-liter supercharged V8, the SuperUte has 535 hp and an astounding 590 lb-ft (800 Nm), enabling it to reach 60 mph (97 km/h) in 4.4 seconds.

The 100 mph (160 km/h) mark is attained in 9.9 seconds, which is almost four seconds faster than the standard, 125 mph (200 km/h) takes just 15.5 seconds and the needle keeps going until it reaches a top speed of 175 mph (280 km/h). The car has an incredible overtaking ability and elasticity and, in spite of its huge engine, it's a pretty "green" machine.

LupiniPower didn't just tune up the engine for greater power, it also installed bigger race-spec front disc brakes and calipers and fine-adjusted the suspension for improved handling, road holding and dynamic ability, without crippling the ride and comfort.

Replacing the stock wheels are 20 inch alloys fitted with 8.5J front and 10J rear ridgestone Potenza RE050 ultra-high performance tires. An optional limited-slip differential is available for the more serious track day fans.

A unique characteristic is the company's standard Warranty & Service Plan in its home market replacing the voided producer warranty. The SuperUte benefits from a 5 year Unlimited LupiniPlan Performance Warranty in South Africa.

The LupiniPower Chevrolet SuperUte will only be produced as a limited edition and will bear a price tag of US $91,500 (EUR63,000, GBP58,000). An identical LupiniPower SuperLumina option is available on the Chevrolet Lumina SS sedan.
