Chevrolet has launched an MPV version of the Cobalt sedan called the Spin. The model is destined to hit the South American and Asian markets this month.
The compact MPV was designed by GM Brazil, the same guys that made the Cobalt, and is being built in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The Spin is never going to win any awards for looks, so the photo gallery that came with the car’s announcement focuses on the interior. This seats up to seven people at once and can be converted to offer a luggage space of 1,668 liters.
The base model is the Spin LT with five seats, ABS, two airbags, powered windows, powered door locks, a height adjustable steering wheel, air conditioning and adjustable seats.
Meanwhile the LTZ offers that third row of seats, parking sensors and a trip computer.
Both are powered by the same 1.8-liter engine that delivers 108 hp on ethanol and 106 hp on gasoline. This is offered either with standard five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic.
