Chevrolet's all-electric 2014 Spark EV will make its European debut at this year's Geneva Auto Show.
Unveiled at the 2013 Los Angeles Motor Show, Chevy's compact car will be available in "selected European countries" that have an established EV market with prices starting from €24,122 ($32,500). The 2014 Spark EV is reputedly powered by GM's most advanced electric motor and lithium-ion battery system with liquid cooling and heating, but its potential range hasn't been uncovered yet.
"Just like Volt, this nimble battery-powered vehicle is a proof point for Chevrolet’s ingenuity in delivering smart mobility solutions," said managing director of Chevrolet and Cadillac Europe, Susan Docherty.
With an estimated power of at least 100 kW (135 hp), the Spark EV is supposed to be able to accelerate to 100 kmh (62 mph) from a standing start in under 8 seconds. If these figures prove to be real, Chevy's EV should be an appealing alternative to the Citroen C-Zero and the Mitsubishi i-MiEV.
