Chevrolet Sonic and Cruze SEMA Offensive Coming

When you hear the names "Chevrolet" and "SEMA", a V8 engine is the first thing that comes to mind. That is correct, but less than 50 percent.

What do we mean by that? Well, at this year's SEMA, 60 percent of the Chevy models will be tuned incarnations of the Sonic and Cruze.

GM is planning a true small car feast, and it will display no less than 20 Sonics, all being fitted with the turbocharged 1.4-liter engine, using Brembo braking systems and new suspension kits, as well as 18-inch custom rims.

We'll start with the vehicles in the adjacent images: the one in the red finish is the Sonic Z-Spec I, while the withe one is the Z-Spec II. The goodies found on the first one will be available on the market starting from December, while the latter's body parts are only a study for now.

We'll also get a sedan incarnation of the Z-Spec I, as well as a reworked version of the Sonic Dusk concept, which will come dressed in Berlin Blue, with a Mojave leather finish in the cabin.

The Cruze sedan will also receive the Z-Spec and Dusk makeovers (there will be two Cruze sedans), with the Cruze models displayed set to borrow everything from their Sonic sisters, except for the wheels, which, in this case, will be 1 inch larger.
