After General Motors and Isuzu came clean about bringing the N-Series medium-duty truck to the United States in June 2015, the time has come for GM to announce the pricing of the low cab forward truck. The 3500 without HD in its name holds a starting price of $40,900 (incl. the $1,125 destination charge).
If the 6.0-liter V8 engine isn’t to your liking, the Chevrolet low cab forward truck can also be had with a 3.0-liter turbo diesel or a 5.2-liter turbo diesel. The oil-chugging models start from $48,375. By comparison, a Silverado 1500 LTZ Crew Cab with the standard box and 2WD goes for $45,205 sans destination.

Prospective buyers who are more interested in gross vehicle weight rating, the GVWR for the Chevrolet 3500 low cab forward truck is 12,000 pounds (5,443 kilograms). Step up to the 5500XD and you’re looking at 19,500 pounds (8,845 kilograms).

In terms of max payload, the entry-level 3500 makes do with 6,978 pounds (3,165 kilograms) while the range-topping 5500XD is rated at 12,794 pounds (5,803 kilograms).

“This addition helps our dealers satisfy their commercial customers’ needs all in one place. We know how important the total vehicle cost of ownership is to fleet customers to be successful in their work, and we believe these prices reflect some of the most competitive in the market when it comes to medium-duty trucks,”
commented Ed Peper, U.S. vice president of General Motors Fleet. “The range of prices gives fleet owners an option that best fits their needs,” concluded Peper.

Slated to arrive at select Chevy dealerships in the third quarter of the year, the Chevrolet low cab forward truck family will be offered in wheelbases ranging from 109 to 212 inches (2.76 to 5.38 meters). Bear in mind that the 3500HD and 5500XD are exclusively available in Regular Cab style.
