Chevrolet Launches Site to Pick Their Best Car of All Time

Sure, the modern-day lineup might strike some as being a bit lackluster, but Chevrolet is a company that has produced some of the most iconic vehicles ever over its long and rich history. The Impala, Nomad, Camaro and Bel Air, to name but a few, are still models that are loved by fans are sought-after by collectors.

However, given the multitude of famous Chevrolets, one question is in desperate need of an answer: which is the best of the best - the most popular and recognizable car to wear a Bowtie badge? Is America’s first SUV, the 1939 Suburban, more important that its modern counterparts? Is the 1948 Chevy Pickup somehow better than a 1989 heavy-loader? What’s the best looking Corvette shape ever - the first one, the Sting Ray or a brand-new ZR1?

All these questions need answering, and the American automaker has launched a dedicated website as part of its centennial celebration which aims to pick the best Chevrolet out of 16 contenders, starting with a 1912 Chevrolet Six that helped launch the company, and concluding with the revolutionary 2011 Chevrolet Volt extended-range EV.

The site also encourages fans share stories and photos about the roles that Chevrolets have played in their lives through social media channels, such as a Facebook page.

"Chevrolet has sold more than 200 million cars and trucks around the world, and Chevys have touched the lives of countless owners, families, and fans,"
said Chris Perry, vice president, global Chevrolet marketing and strategy. "It is fitting that we mark our Centennial by recognizing these connections and celebrating Chevrolet's role in peoples' lives."
