Some time ago, just when General Motors celebrated its 100th anniversary, the American car manufacturer announced that a new family of cars will arrive in the near future, but refused to unveil other details or at least, its name.

Today, some leaked pics showing the so-called Chevrolet GPiX found their way on the Internet, according to various sources, this may be the car GM talked about in the past. MotorTips wrote that this new model “anticipates the project Viva”, a new family of cars which is supposed to replace the Corsa lineup in several South American countries.

Although it's not yet confirmed, the new series may include both a sedan and a hatchback, which will be especially introduced to replace the successful Corsa. This model recorded very high sales in most markets, especially in South America where it was rebadged by Chevrolet and sold as a separate series.

However, sources also talk about a pick-up truck and a small crossover version of the car, but more details should be unveiled next week at the Sao Paolo Auto Show.

Information regarding the technical details are also pure speculations, but MotorTips wrote that “Viva will preserve its European brother's dimensions, such as a 2.50 m wheelbase and a 4 m length” and will come in two engine configurations, namely “1.4-litre Econo.Flex and 1.8-litre”.

Full details about the new models are expected to be unveiled next week at the Sao Paolo Auto Show but until we'll get all these specifications , have a look at the Chevrolet GPiX leaked photos (all of them published by MotorTips).
