General Motors will lower the price for the 2015 Chevy Spark EV in an attempt to boost sales and make "EV driving more accessible, affordable and fun".
"The Spark EV is already the most efficient – and one of the most affordable – EVs you can buy. 2015 Spark EV customers will benefit from an impressive blend of technology, capability and low cost of ownership, now at an even more impressive price," said Steve Majoros, director of Chevrolet Car and Crossover Marketing.

On that note, the base model 2015 Chevrolet Spark EV will now cost $25,995. The new price tag is $1,500 lower than before, but this price cut has another beneficial effect on customers' pockets.

Chevrolet also prepared a shrunken lease price, which means customers will pay $139 a month instead of $199 a month. The deal stretches for 39 months and doesn't require money being paid at signing, as it was the case before when clients had to pay $999 as a down payment.

In addition, Chevrolet has a few more pleasant surprises for customers. California and Maryland Spark EV owners may also qualify for a $2,500 California state rebate or $2,300 Maryland tax exemption. Additional Chevrolet bonus cash is also available: $1,000 in California, $1,200 in Maryland, and $3,500 in Oregon.

Unfortunately, the three states mentioned above are the only ones where the 2015 Spark EV is available, which means a rather small number of potential buyers can benefit from such premia. All in all, after full federal state tax credits and Chevrolet's bonus cash, the Spark EV could be as low as $14,995.

No, that's not a typo. Do the math, and you'll get to the same price tag: $14,995. It may sound too good to be true, but it's a bargain really, provided one qualifies for all the gratuities.
