Chevrolet Cruze to Advertise During MTV Video Music Awards

Having already launched the advertising campaign for the new Chevrolet Cruze earlier this week, American manufacturer GM is preparing to really make an impact for the model by teaming up with MTV and preparing a treat for Sunday's Video Music Awards (VMAs), which will take place at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles.

To integrate the car into the show, the carmaker partnered with musical group N.E.R.D, together with which they will create a version of the band's video “Hot-n-Fun.” This version of the video will be shot on a stage designed to be reminiscent of a 1950s vintage drive-in and will feature old and new Chevrolet cars and trucks.

“We’re confident that Chevrolet now has a compact car that will appeal to younger buyers, especially women,” said Mary Kubitskey, Chevrolet national advertising manager.

“The Cruze has already launched in more than 60 countries, so the fact that we can reach the VMA’s young and international audience in a compelling way makes this a perfect venue to tell the Cruze story.”

The Cruze launched in the US last week, after it has already become available in several parts of the world. For the local market, the model will be offered from $16,995 for the LS model (10 airbags, StabiliTrak electronic stability control with rollover sensing, traction control and anti-lock brakes) and from $18,895 for the Eco version.

The top of the line LTZ starts at $22,695 and comes with leather seating surfaces, cruise control, Bluetooth phone connectivity, USB port with audio interface, ultrasonic rear-parking assist, and 18-inch alloy wheels.
