Chevrolet will introduce a brand new version of its popular Cruze in Germany, created in collaboration with German tuning house Irmscher. The so-called Irmscher Special Edition will be exclusively available in this market and will come with a pack of aesthetic upgrades, but no mechanical improvements.
However, the option will be available only for Cruze's top engine, including the 2.0-liter VCDi engine that develops 150 horsepower or the 1.8-liter petrol with 140 horsepower.
As said, the Irmscher Special Edition will bring several styling enhancements, including 18-inch alloy wheels, chrome exhaust and sport suspension. The package will be offered with a price tag of 1,990 euro.
Chevrolet Cruze is offered with a total of three engines, two petrol and one diesel. The entry-model is the 1.6-liter configuration that develops 113 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 153 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm, while releasing 159 grams of CO2 per kilometer. It propels the car from 0 to 100 km/h in 11.8 seconds, while topping at 115 mph (185 km/h). As for fuel consumption, this particular configuration achieves 26.1 mpg (9 L/100Km) city and 42.7 mpg (5.5 L/100Km) highway.
The top-of-the-range configuration is the 2.0-liter diesel that generates 150 horsepower at 4,000 rpm and 320 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm. This means the car is capable to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.3 seconds and achieve a maximum speed of 130.5 mph (210 km/h). In terms of fuel consumption, it return 33.6 mpg (7 L/100Km) city and 49 mpg (4.8 L/100Km) highway.
