GM couldn’t just let the Ford Mustang Cobra Jet take over the drag strip, so the company unveiled the COPO Camaro concept at this’ year’s edition of the SEMA event.
This is a vehicle created using the specifications of the NHRA Stock Eliminator class, but a production version hasn’t been confirmed yet. However, the carmaker is now offering us a video that shows the vehicle at work on the strip.
The muscle drag car can use two V8 engines: a supercharged 327 (5.3-liter) or a naturally-aspirated 427 (7.0-liter), which can be mated to a two-speed automatic , a three-speed automatic or to a five-speed manual transmission.
The carmaker hasn’t released the specs of the vehicles, but said that the testing day proved the car was as capable as it was expected to be, so we should get some pretty impressive times.
