Remember the times that saw muscle cars getting all confused when presented with a corner? Well, that era is well behind us and the machine that deserves most of the credit for this is the Chevrolet Camaro SS, which can blitz the Nurburgring in a Porsche-rivaling 7:16 with the help of the 1LE package. Of course, many of these muscle beasts will still engage in drag racing activities, as is the case with the one that brought us here.
To be more precise, the slab of America got together with a BMW 135i Coupe and it looks like the encounter took place as part of a hot night of street racing - their stunt was caught on camera from a third vehicle.
While the Camaro doesn't show clue of having been taken down the aftermarket path, we can't say the same about the German coup. In fact, this Bimmer has been fitted with full bolt-ons. And since its N54 turbocharged straight-six has serious aftermarket potential, the car has made a noticeable step forward compared to its factory state.
As you'll notice in the piece of footage at the bottom of the page, the Chevrolet Camaro SS 1LE and the BMW 135i Coupe duked it out on the highway.
And, towards the end of the battle, the Chevy looks like it's going to crash into a car minding its own business on the shoulder. And while we don't get to see the outcome due to the video coming to an end, it does seem like the Camaro has other lanes to steer into in order to avoid a crash.
This part of the adventure is why one should stay off the streets and head over to the drag strip when the hooning urges show up. So please don't use this shenanigan as an example and stay on the safe side.
