Chevrolet Aveo Reaches U.K. Shores

The first shipment of the new Chevrolet Aveo has reached U.K. shores ahead of the national dealer launch. The shipment, consisting of 348 units, was delivered to the UK last week and has been prepared for delivery by logistics provider Autologic.

Autologic is delighted to support Chevrolet in the launch of this exciting new model, having just secured a new two year contract with Chevrolet, for the technical services at Portbury (docks, near Bristol in south west England). This is an excellent way to begin our new partnership,”, Mark Hindley, Autologic’s Commercial director said.

We are very pleased with the service provided by Autologic and ECM. It was no small feat but [they] were able to deliver 348 Sparks, four per Retailer, in 35 transporters to our 87 retailer sites across the country ahead of our national launch, giving us a great focus for pre-selling activity," James Ash, Chevrolet transport manager added.

The UK Chevrolet dealer network will hold multiple launch events for the Spark throughout the country. For the UK market, the car has a starting price of 6,495 pounds.

Earlier this month, Chevrolet announced that the Spark was available in dealerships across Europe, with the rest of the markets receiving the car in the following months. The Spark will also be introduced to the U.S. market, but American buyers will have to wait until next year. GM is currently developing an electric version of the vehicle, but no details about it have been disclosed until now.
