Chevrolet has announced the introduction of two limited edition colors for the 2014 Sonic subcompact. The first color, “Deep Magenta Metallic”, will become available from August through December, while the second one, dubbed “Cool Blue”, will be added later this year.
“We know that about one-third of our Sonic buyers note exterior color as an ‘extremely important’ factor in their purchase process – a higher percentage than other small car buyers,” said Michelle Killen, lead creative designer at GM’s color and trim studio and exterior paint expert for Chevrolet.
Following the “Deep Magenta Metallic”, Chevrolet will introduce the “Cool Blue”, described as a “greyish, dirty blue”, from November until March. In addition, the Sonic will also gain a “Dragon Green” hue as a permanent color to the lineup in the first quarter of 2014.
The limited edition colors will be applied with General Motors’ innovative “three-wet” paint process at the Orion Assembly Plant.
