Chevrolet released a new commercial to further advertise their new Malibu model fitted with the eAssist fuel consumption reducing system.
With regenerative braking systems spreading like cancer throughout the automotive industry and eco-green-environment-friendly vehicles coming out each day to “surprize” us with their capabilities, Chevrolet has too managed to “tame” the iconic Malibu model and turn it into an energy saving hippie.
Leaving that aside and turning to the commercial, we find out that the Malibu can take advantage of the gravity to overcome gravity itself... Sounds crazy but it’s quite simple: when you go down a hill and don’t use the engine, all that unused kinetic energy that the car generates when coasting downhill is captured by the Eco eAssist system and turned into electricity that is stored in batteries. Then, when you have to go up a hill, guess what? All that beautifully stored energy will be sent to an electric motor to help you climb and save gas.
