The Korean Kia K9 is similar to the BMW 5-Series, which might also look a bit like any other German sedan. But that just how car design works - it ebbs and flows in a singular direction usually dictated by customer demand.
However, the Chinese are infamous for copying European cars to an insultingly high degree. You often find their ‘spies’ at auto shows with a clipboard in one hand and a tape measure in the other, trying to figure out the proportion of the latest model.

However, the Chery TX Concept to be unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show is no copycat. There’s a bit of Nissan Juke and Infiniti FX in there, but no so you’d notice. We find it quite stunning, especially the way the perched the lights so high.

Right now, the Chery TX is just a design study, but even so, the lines it offers are a good indication of a production vehicle should they go ahead and turn it into a small crossover.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
