Chery - Jaguar Joint Venture Gains Official Acceptance by Chines Government

Jaguar - Land Rover’s joint venture with Chinese automaker, Chery, has just gained official acceptance by the local government. The $1.58-billion deal was officially recognized by the National Development and Reform Commission, and the operation will soon begin the next phase of development.

They will begin looking for sites, as well as competent people to work in the company, and according to an official source from Chery, "The cooperation between Chery and Jaguar Land Rover has indeed gained written approval, although the information has yet to be posted on the NDRC's official website," adding that the news was very well-received by the company’s staff.

The two companies managed to speed up the bureaucratic processes which usually take years, and finished the job in just four months, instead of the two years and four months it took Mazda, a smaller automaker, to have their split with Changan Ford officially approved.
