Just a couple of hours ago we were looking at the upcoming BMW F86 X6 M doing some laps around the Nurburgring, in what seemed like the final tests before the car comes out. Now, we’re going rather nostalgic, thinking about the current generation that will soon be obsolete.
With plans to replace the aging, first-ever turbocharged petrol engine developed by the Motorsport division, the engineers are looking to the future. And so should we. The problem is, sometimes, the past seems so good, we simply can’t put it behind us.

It’s the case of this monstrously powerful BMW E71 X6 M that was tuned by the guys from PP-Performance. We stumbled upon it at one of the events hosted by the Russians from DragTimes, the team that has overseen some of the most ridiculous and fastest rides in the world perform on their private track.

According to them, numerous world records were beaten there but since no official was there to... ‘officialize’ things, we simply can’t make such statements. What we can do is sit back and observe.

The video below shows the top 3 most powerful (and fastest) SUVs to enter their compounds. It starts off with a Stage 4 Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG (W166) done by Gorilla Racing going up against a Stage 2 BMW X5 M, continues with another ML 63 AMG, this time done by Evotech, with 750 HP and ends with the fastest SUV they ever had on the track, a Stage 4 PP-Performance BMW X6 M with 800 HP.

What’s extremely interesting about these rides is the amount of horsepower and torque their 6-speed automatic transmissions can withstand without blowing to pieces. We’re wondering just how high these numbers can go before you have to change the clutch or other various components... In the meantime, this 11 second 2.3 ton SAC is really impressive.
