Initial D had a strong impact in putting the Toyota AE 86 in the hearts of young drifters. However, Sato Hirokazu got the hachi-roku bug from a motorsports magazine in high school.
Sato-san bought his first AE 86 about 20 years ago, has owned 3 more and the current one has been a project for over the last 14 years. Although it looks almost stock, those 14 years came with a lot of details and performance upgrades.
The exterior gained an OEM Kouki Levin front fascia and tail lamps, OEM Zenki front spoiler and side skirts, a BMW M-series rear spoiler, fiberglass hood, pulled fenders, aero catch and EC Works Group A mirrors.
Inside it comes with Bride sport seats, Takata harnesses, Momo Drifting steering wheel, a 7-point rollcage, custom instrumentation and more.
The engine is an overhauled 4A-GE with a Fujitsubo exhaust manifold, Apexis air intake, Koyo radiator, Nismo fuel regulator, Hotwires plug cord, NGK spark plugs and more.
