Even though AMG engineers have an aura of confidence about their ability to inject an eargasmic exhaust note in just about any type of powerplant, be it a naturally-aspirated V8 or a turbocharged four-cylinder, the legendary M156 engine will most definitely be a tough act to follow.
With a displacement of 6,208 cc but officially rounded off to “6.3-liters” for historical marketing reasons, the M156 is a naturally-aspirated free-breathing monster that has a power output which spans from 457 hp to 517 hp in the Mercedes-Benz C-Class models of the AMG variety, and up to 631 hp in its most potent M159 version.
In the C-Class, this engine's swan song is represented by the Edition 507 models, which have a power output of... you guessed it!... 507 hp.
Also sporting a number of parts borrowed straight from the bonkers C 63 AMG Coupe Black Series, the Edition 507 is an almost perfect example of how to go out with a bang, as the epic V8 is sadly going out of production by the end of the current year.
